| Abstract | Abstract Mimosa pudica is a tiny herb that is used all over the world and is a member of the Fabaceae (Mimosaceae) family. It has many different phytochemicals that have different pharmacological effects. Mimosa pudica has long been utilized for its analgesic, wound-healing, and anti-inflammatory qualities. Method: 90% ethanol was used in the maceration process to produce the leaf extract. For formulation, the obtained extract was added to a basic ointment basis (IP). The pH, spreadability, and viscosity of the prepared ointment were assessed. Result: Using ethanol and the maceration method, the dried leaf powder was effectively extracted. The pH of the prepared ointment was between 6.0 and 6.1, suggesting that it was suitable for skin application. It was discovered that the spreadability was 45–48 mm, indicating good consistency. The ointment was thick, non-irritating, mildly washable, and soluble in ether and chloroform but insoluble in water. Rancidity and loss on drying tests were passed by the formulation. Conclusion: Mimosa pudica's ethanol extract has a lot of medicinal potential. Skin infections and pain-related diseases can be effectively treated with the prepared ointment, which is a herbal medicine. |
