Abstract The increasing demand for fuel-efficient and low-emission vehicles has driven the adoption of advanced automotive technologies. This paper presents an ECU and CAN-based communication system integrated with an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) for mild hybrid vehicles. The system enables automatic start-stop operation, regenerative braking, and torque assist to improve fuel economy and vehicle performance. The ECU coordinates vehicle functions through CAN communication, ensuring reliable and efficient operation. The proposed system reduces fuel consumption, lowers exhaust emissions, enhances energy recovery, and improves driving comfort. The study demonstrates that ISG technology combined with ECU and CAN communication is an effective solution for achieving BS VI compliance and supporting sustainable automotive development.
