Review Paper: Dynamics of Women Empowerment in Punjab

Author(s) Dr. Neenu Sharma
Country India
Abstract This review paper explores the evolving landscape of Women Empowerment in Punjab, focusing on the critical intersection of Education, Employment, and Entrepreneurship. Punjab is an economically robust state, but in this state of India, female workforce participation has historically lagged. Women empowerment is critical to the process of the development of the community. Empowerment of women is essential to harness the women labour in the mainstream of economic development. This paper synthesizes current data from the Census, and government reports to analyze how education—specifically in STEM—is beginning to bridge the gender gap. It further examines the rise of female Entrepreneurship in the MSME sector and the psychological stages of empowerment. The study concludes that while legislative frameworks are robust, attitudinal shifts and digital literacy are the next frontiers for total gender parity in the state.
