The Evolution of Homestay Tourism: A Bibliometric Perspective
| Author(s) | Ms. Priyanka ., Dr. Kuldeep Kumar |

| Abstract | Homestay tourism is an integral part of sustainable and community-based tourism since it allows visitors to experience the real culture of the community and at the same time contribute to rural development and growth of the local economy. In recent years, there has been significant increase in the number of studies that have investigated homestay tourism because of the rise of sustainability, ecotourism, and experiential tourism. However, little research has been undertaken on the intellectual structure and thematic trends within the field of homestay tourism. Therefore, the current study seeks to conduct bibliometric analysis of the existing global literature. In conducting the research, the authors used bibliometric methods to analyze articles listed in the Scopus database. By applying screening and inclusion criteria to the terms “homestay” and “tourism,” 141 relevant publications were selected. VOSviewer and Biblioshiny in R Studio were used as bibliometric software in order to conduct bibliometric analysis of citations, co-authorship, keywords, and thematic trends. The current research will contribute to existing tourism literature by providing a systematic overview of intellectual structure, collaborative networks, and thematic trends of homestay tourism literature. |
