| Abstract | This paper addresses the socio-economic friction between technological progress and employment stability by developing an integrated conceptual framework at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), SDG 8, and SDG 9. Utilizing a systematic framework synthesis methodology, the study maps how different AI vectors interact with industrial infrastructure and labour market dynamics in emerging economies. The findings reveal that while algorithmic optimization accelerates resource-use efficiency and green manufacturing, unguided process automation triggers severe task displacement, exacerbating informality and jobless growth. The framework demonstrates that managing this structural friction requires a transition from market-driven automation to state-led innovation policy. Governments must deploy targeted fiscal incentives to champion human-complementing AI applications, ensuring technological adoption fosters inclusive, sustainable industrialization. |
