How Governance and Women's Participation Shape Agriculture: A systematic review on FPOs and Collective Farming

Abstract Agriculture farmers producer organizations (FPOs) are a fundamental institution for sustainable rural concerns remain regarding growth to and small-scale farmer prosperity. which governance frameworks facilitate or However, hinder women’s effective participation in leadership and decision mechanisms. This scoping review integrates evidence on the association among women’s participation, organizational governance, and sustainability of the institutions. The findings tell that; with the meaningful participation of women, there is improvement in governance quality, decision-making and resource management; however, barriers such as double work burdens, limited access to land and credit, insufficient training and review highlights transparent decision-making, poor information decentralized leadership and system. The inclusive governance practices; strengthen women’s participation and organizational sustainability. It points towards the importance of advancing gender equality commitments and institutional accountability are important for enhancing the long-term success and resilience of Farmers Producer Organizations.
