| Abstract | The purpose of this study was to determine the expenditure patterns, savings and investment practices, and credit management profile of DepEd personnel in City of Mati, Davao Oriental. Descriptive statistics was employed to attain the objectives of this study. Researchers used an adapted survey questionnaire which was contextualized and was subjected to validators review and Cronbach alpha for reliability testing. Survey questionnaires were administered to the 240 DepEd personnel using proportionate sampling method. Findings show that the respondents placed more emphasis on essential expenses like food, transportation, utilities, and other health necessities. Even though most of the respondents engaged in saving, they saved small amounts and very few of them invested. Business was seen as the predominant kind of investment among the respondents. In terms of indebtedness, there was a very high rate among them, GSIS loans, bank loans, and cooperative loans being the most utilized credit facilities. Emergencies, education, and household expenses were the leading factors for which the respondents took out loans. |
