Abstract In the rapidly evolving global entrepreneurship landscape, India's startup ecosystem has emerged as a dynamic force, transitioning from a domestic innovation hub to a key player in international networks. This paper titled "Global Integration, Start-up Ecosystems, and Policy: A Comparative View": Evaluating India's Integration with Global Start-up Networks and International Best Practices" critically examines how Indian startups are forging cross-border connections, adopting world-class practices, and enhancing their global competitiveness amid economic uncertainties.
India's integration with global startup networks has been significantly strengthened through government-led initiatives under Startup India. With over 20 international bridges established, strategic alliances with countries. like France (T-Hub partnership with Hauts-de-France), Chile, and multilateral forums such as Startup20 under India's G20 Presidency have facilitated knowledge exchange, investor access, and market expansion. Events have created platforms for Indian founders to collaborate with global corporates and accelerators. The linkages have enabled technology transfer, cross-border funding, and access to international supply chains, particularly in sectors like fintech, deeptech, AI, and sustainability.
Adoption of international best practices has been pivotal to India's competitiveness. Practices such as AI-driven product development, data governance frameworks, sustainable business models, and agile organizational structures have been widely embraced. India must deepen policy support for deeptech internationalization, strengthen university-industry-global R&D linkages, and promote inclusive innovation through vernacular and regional ecosystem development.
This evaluation concludes that while India's global linkages have accelerated its rise, sustained competitiveness hinges on strategic adoption of international best practices, robust public-private partnerships, and a focus on high-value, scalable innovations. By bridging domestic strengths with global standards, India can position itself as a leader in the next wave of worldwide entrepreneurship, contributing significantly to economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development.
