| Abstract | Creativity and academic achievement are widely recognized as critical components of students’ educational and personal development. Creativity facilitates the generation of original ideas, innovative thinking, and effective problem-solving, while academic achievement reflects the attainment of educational objectives and learning outcomes. Understanding the relationship between these two constructs has become increasingly important in contemporary education, where the development of higher-order thinking skills is emphasized alongside academic excellence. This review examines the theoretical foundations, empirical evidence, influencing factors, and educational implications of creativity and academic achievement among secondary school students. Drawing upon findings from diverse educational contexts, the review reveals a generally positive association between creativity and academic performance, although the magnitude and nature of this relationship vary across studies due to differences in measurement approaches, sociocultural settings, and individual learner characteristics. The review further explores the role of cognitive, motivational, familial, and school-related factors in shaping creativity and academic success. The findings underscore the importance of fostering creativity through supportive learning environments, innovative teaching strategies, and student-centered pedagogical practices. Promoting creativity within secondary education not only enhances academic achievement but also equips students with essential skills for lifelong learning and adaptation in a rapidly changing world. |
