Abstract This study aims to review existing literature on digital transformation in banking. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using Antecedents-Decisions-Outcomes (ADO) and Theory-Context-Characteristics-Methodology (TCCM) framework. A structured search strategy was conducted using Scopus to extract the articles for the review. Initially 330 documents were identified then inclusion and exclusion criteria applied. It refined the dataset to 60 final documents that were included for the Systematic Literature Review. The findings shows that AI, blockchain, big data, cloud computing, and digital banking boost operational efficiency, financial stability, and resilience in banks. Additionally, it support sustainable practices. However, as banking becomes more digital, new vulnerability arise: cybersecurity threats, data privacy concerns, governance risks, and difficulties with organizational change. Also, the study notes that research is often theoretical, focusing mostly on tech-savvy economies, and relies heavily on quantitative methods. This study adds to the emerging digital banking literature by providing an integrated review of the digital transformation in banking using the combined application of PRISMA, ADO and TCCM frameworks. The review systematically explains the antecedents, consequences, research trends, and future directions of research that affect digital transformation in modern banking systems.
