Exploring Indian Traditional Food Practices in Shaping Health and Well

Author(s) Dr. Archana Anand, Ambreen Fatima
Country India
Abstract Every country has its own traditional food culture and practices related to it. Indian food practices are guided by Ayurveda and Unani medicine, making food not only nutritious but also therapeutic, offering a culturally resonant framework for addressing nutrition transitions among the adolescent health challenges and dietary habits. This systematic review examined traditional food systems, their ingredients, practices, and dietary shifts. It has been concluded that there is a need to revive traditional diets that include major bioactive components with functional and pharmacological potential for the wellness and health of the younger generation.
