Abstract Vyanga is described under Kshudra Roga in Ayurveda and is characterized by painless, thin, bluish-black discoloration over the face due to vitiation of Vata-Pitta and Rakta Dosha. Melasma, a common acquired hyper-pigmentary disorder in modern dermatology, closely resembles Vyanga in clinical presentation. It commonly affects women and significantly impacts cosmetic appearance and psychological wellbeing. Conventional treatments often provide temporary relief and are associated with recurrence and adverse effects. Ayurveda offers safe and holistic management through Shodhana and Shamana therapies. The present study examines the classical Ayurvedic Chikitsa for Vyanga, focusing on external treatment. This involves the application of Jalauka along with Manjistha Churna Lepa and Abhyanga with Madhuyasthyadi Taila. The subject of the study was 30-year-old female patient presenting with symptoms of Vyanga for over three years, which had shown minimal improvement with conventional treatment. Progress was monitored through clinical evaluations, photographic documentation, and patient-reported symptom scales. Clinical assessments showed a significant reduction in lesion size, pigmentation in due course of time. No adverse reactions were reported. These findings suggests that the given Ayurveda treatment may offer an effective, natural alternative for the management of Vyanga, warranting further research to validate these findings across a larger population.
