Abstract Breast cancer is one of the leading health problems among women worldwide, and early detection through breast self-examination (BSE) plays an important role in reducing complications and mortality. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a structured teaching programme integrated with a mobile health application (Keep A Breast App) in enhancing breast cancer awareness and BSE practices among adolescent girls in selected colleges of Bangarupalayam Mandal, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. The objectives were to assess pre-test knowledge regarding early detection of breast cancer, evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention through post-test scores, compare pre-test and post-test knowledge scores, and determine the association between knowledge scores and selected demographic variables. A quasi-experimental study design was adopted among 60 adolescent girls selected through non-probability purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Pre-test assessment was conducted, followed by the structured teaching programme integrated with the mobile health application. Post-test assessment was conducted using the same questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics including percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and inferential statistics including paired t-test and chi-square test. The findings revealed that in the pre-test, 83.3% had inadequate knowledge and none had adequate knowledge, whereas in the post-test, 61.7% had adequate knowledge. A significant improvement in knowledge was observed after the intervention (r=0.789, p<0.01). The study concluded that the structured teaching programme integrated with the mobile health application was effective in improving breast cancer awareness and BSE practices among adolescent girls.
