| Abstract | Stroke induced aphasia significantly impacts the communication abilities of survivors and places substantial emotional and practical demands on family caregivers. A caregiver of a person with stroke induced aphasia is typically a family member or close friend who takes on the main responsibility for supporting the individual’s daily life, health and communication after the stroke. Caregivers benefit greatly from clear information about aphasia, practical training in communication strategies and access to emotional support, counselling and support groups. The current study utilized a Yes/No questionnaire. Findings revealed that 70% caregivers are aware on stroke induced aphasia and 30% are not aware. Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) teach practical techniques such as utilizing visual aids, giving ample response time and integrating communication apps to ease daily frustrations. The intersection of educated technologically proficient caregivers with the well-resourced framework of private healthcare effectively eliminates traditional information barriers. This collaborative dynamic ensures that caregivers possess the necessary clinical knowledge and practical skills before managing patient care at home. |
