Abstract Panchakarma therapy, one of the most significant therapeutic modalities of Ayurveda, has gained increasing recognition in modern society due to its holistic approach toward health promotion, disease prevention, and rejuvenation. The growing prevalence of lifestyle disorders, mental stress, obesity, metabolic syndrome, and chronic illnesses has led people to seek complementary and alternative systems of medicine. Awareness regarding the effectiveness of Panchakarma therapy has gradually expanded through educational programs, media exposure, institutional healthcare services, and scientific research. Panchakarma comprises five major detoxification procedures—Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, and Raktamokshana—which aim to eliminate accumulated toxins and restore physiological balance. The present article reviews societal awareness regarding Panchakarma therapy, its perceived effectiveness, utilization patterns, benefits, challenges, and future prospects. The article also discusses the role of healthcare professionals, educational institutions, government initiatives, and public health campaigns in enhancing awareness about Panchakarma therapy. Increasing scientific validation and integration with modern healthcare systems can further improve public acceptance and utilization of Panchakarma in society.
