| Abstract | The rapid growth of online food delivery platforms such as Swiggy and Zomato has significantly influenced consumer purchasing behaviour, particularly among students who frequently rely on these applications for convenience and accessibility. This study examines the impact of convenience fees on the ordering behaviour of students using Swiggy and Zomato in Mumbai. The research specifically analyses the relationship between students’ perception that convenience fees increase the final ordering cost and their tendency to reconsider placing an order, while also examining the effect of these fees on overall cost perception. Primary data was collected from 203 students through a structured questionnaire and analysed using percentage analysis and Chi-square testing. The findings reveal that convenience fees significantly influence both cost perception and purchase completion behaviour. Students who perceive convenience fees as increasing the final cost are more likely to reconsider placing orders. The study highlights the importance of pricing transparency and customer-friendly pricing strategies in improving consumer trust, customer satisfaction, and order completion behaviour in online food delivery platforms. |
