Abstract The transportation sector is increasingly adopting renewable energy solutions to address rising energy demands and environmental concerns associated with fossil fuels. This paper presents a smart renewable energy harvesting system for moving vehicles that integrates kinetic, solar, and thermoelectric energy sources. Kinetic energy is harvested through piezoelectric and electromagnetic mechanisms in the suspension system, while photovoltaic panels and thermoelectric generators capture solar energy and waste heat, respectively. A hybrid energy storage system consisting of batteries and supercapacitors ensures reliable power supply. The system employs IoT-enabled sensors, a microcontroller-based energy management unit, and AI-driven control algorithms for real-time monitoring and optimization. Experimental results demonstrate that the harvested energy can effectively power auxiliary vehicle systems, reducing dependence on the primary energy source. The proposed approach offers a promising solution for enhancing vehicle energy efficiency and supporting sustainable transportation.
