| Abstract | Neonatal jaundice is a common condition affecting most newborns in the first week of life, which may lead to serious complications if not recognized and managed early. Mothers play a key role in early detection and care; therefore, their knowledge is essential. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of a structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding neonatal jaundice among postnatal mothers admitted to Civil Hospital, Surat. A quantitative one-group pre-test and post-test design will be used with convenient sampling. Knowledge will be assessed using a structured questionnaire before and after the intervention. The teaching programme is expected to significantly improve mothers’ knowledge regarding neonatal jaundice and promote early recognition and appropriate care, thereby reducing neonatal complications. |
