| Abstract | Entrepreneurship has emerged as an important driver of economic growth, innovation, and employment generation, especially among young people. In India, government initiatives such as Startup India and Skill India encourage youth to pursue entrepreneurial careers. However, despite these efforts, many young individuals face challenges such as limited access to finance, inadequate entrepreneurial education, lack of mentorship, fear of failure, and societal preference for secure jobs. Dakshina Kannada, known for its educational institutions and business-oriented culture, provides a suitable setting to examine these issues. This research was undertaken to understand the factors that influence entrepreneurial initiative among youths in the district and to identify the barriers and support systems that affect their entrepreneurial aspirations. |
