| Abstract | Hilly regions are highly susceptible to catastrophic natural hazards, including landslides, flash floods, and cloudbursts. This paper presents a structured analysis of how Information Technology (IT) acts as a structural and non-structural mechanism for disaster aversion in mountainous topographies. By integrating wireless sensor networks (WSNs), Internet of Things (IoT) frameworks, remote sensing, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), modern systems can predict and systematically minimize environmental risks. This study explores risk-averse data models, predictive algorithms, communication frameworks, and robotic search and rescue operations tailored specifically for the complex constraints of high-altitude geographies. |
