Abstract The Indian banking sector has undergone a significant transformation from conventional banking systems to modern, technology-driven services. This shift has been rapid, especially since the late 1980s, when computerization was first introduced to improve customer service, accounting processes, and management information systems. A committee led by Dr. C. Rangarajan played a key role in promoting computerization of banking.
