Abstract Background: Magnesium sulphate (MgSO₄) administration is a key intervention in the management of preeclampsia and eclampsia, which are major causes of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality worldwide. It is considered the drug of choice for the prevention and control of seizures in women with severe preeclampsia and eclampsia. Effective and timely administration of magnesium sulphate can significantly reduce complications such as maternal death, cerebral hemorrhage, and fetal distress. However, inadequate knowledge and skills among healthcare providers may lead to improper dosage, delayed administration, and poor monitoring, increasing the risk of adverse outcomes. Proper training and adherence to standard protocols are essential to ensure safe administration and to prevent toxicity. Continuous monitoring of maternal condition, including reflexes, respiratory rate, and urine output, is crucial during therapy. Enhancing the competency of nursing students and healthcare professionals in magnesium sulphate administration is vital for improving maternal and neonatal outcomes and ensuring quality obstetric care.1,2
