Abstract The research paper addresses the rising concern of social media addiction among adolescents and its possible influence on students’ academic accomplishments and daily activities. This paper entitled “Effects of Social Media on Adolescents’ Academic Achievement and Everyday Activities” made an attempt to examine the relationship between social media usage and various aspects of adolescents’ lives, including academic grades, studying hours per day, homework and playtime practices, as well as their interpersonal relationships with family members and their urge to use the phone during study time. The researcher adopted an exploratory in nature and Cross-sectional research design. It has studied 198 students ranging from 8th to 10th grade, in addition to first and second PUC students from Belthangady Thaluk. The study followed the purposive sampling method. The questionnaire method was used to collect the data from the respondents. The secondary data was collected from internet sources such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and ERIC. The analysis and interpretation of the data were conducted and presented through percentage analysis and Chi-square test. The study found a statistically significant relationship between the use of social media and many different aspects of adolescents' academic life as well as their everyday routines. These aspects include studying, doing homework, playing, interacting with one's family members, taking care of domestic chores, and overall academic performance.
