Abstract This study aimed to characterize the determinants of students’ mobility in academic pursuit among transferee students in selected public elementary schools in the Division of Bohol during the School Year 2025–2026. Specifically, it examined the respondents’ profile, assessed the levels of self-confidence, academic engagement, and school belongingness, determined the significant relationships between profile variables and mobility determinants, tested the relationship of self-confidence with academic engagement and school belongingness, and identified the challenges encountered by transferee students as the basis for a proposed Mobility Intervention Support Program.
The study utilized a quantitative descriptive-correlational research design. Data were gathered from 100 transferee student-respondents using a structured questionnaire. Statistical tools such as frequency, percentage, weighted mean, chi-square test, t-test, and Pearson correlation were employed in analyzing the data.
Findings revealed that transferee students generally demonstrated high levels of self-confidence (3.96), academic engagement (4.08), and school belongingness (4.08). Behavioral engagement and teacher support obtained the highest means, while emotional confidence and peer acceptance registered comparatively lower ratings. Significant relationships were found between selected profile variables and mobility determinants. Moreover, self-confidence showed a significant positive relationship with both academic engagement (r = 0.71) and school belongingness (r = 0.68). The most common challenges identified were difficulty adjusting to new classmates, understanding lessons, and hesitation in participation.
Based on the findings, a Mobility Intervention Support Program was proposed to enhance the academic, social, and emotional adjustment of transferee students.
