| Abstract | Oral cancer develops in a series of steps from pre-existing, possibly cancerous lesions. Several universities and scientific labs are currently working to create screening methods that identify specific diseases with specific biomarkers that aid in the identification of high-risk patients and serve as a tool for the prevention of individual tumors. Since the approach is highly reliable and inexpensive, Micronuclear accumulation is being progressively used as a bio-marker of genetic instability in both humans as well as a variety of species. It is also the best option for molecular epidemiological investigations. |
