Digital history and modern India

Abstract Digital history has become one of the most important studies and means of interpretation of the past using digital technologies, databases, online archives, and multimedia products. Digital history in the context of modern Indian present, has changed the methods of information generation, its preservation and its dissemination. This research paper aims to discuss how the digital platforms have been able to capture and preserve the social, political, cultural and economic pride of India. It explores the impact of providing archives, virtual museums and digital stories in digital form on historical knowledge and participation. The study of digital history has opportunities as well as problems, such as its accessibility, authenticity and its preservation of historical issues.
