Abstract This study presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on consumer adoption in relation to purchase intention and continuous usage intention on digital platforms. It examines the factors influencing consumers' decisions to adopt and continue using digital services such as e-commerce, mobile banking, and online marketplaces. The review analyzes 12 peer-reviewed studies published between 2015 and 2025 using the Theory–Context–Methodology (TCM) framework. The findings identify TAM, UTAUT, ECM, and Trust Theory as the dominant theoretical models. Key determinants include perceived usefulness, ease of use, trust, security, customer satisfaction, service quality, and social influence. The review also shows that quantitative research using SEM and PLS-SEM is the most common methodological approach. While purchase intention and continuous usage intention have been widely studied separately, few studies integrate both concepts. The review highlights the need for integrated theoretical frameworks and more diverse research methods. It also recommends cross-cultural and emerging technology-based studies to better understand consumer behavior. The findings offer valuable insights for researchers and digital platform providers to improve customer acquisition, satisfaction, and long-term engagement.
Keywords Consumer Adoption, Purchase Intention, Continuous Usage Intention, Digital Platforms, Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), Expectation–Confirmation Model (ECM), Trust, Systematic Literature Review (SLR), Theory–Context–Methodology (TCM) Framework.
