| Abstract | Hydrogen gel systems can be prepared from natural polymers, synthetic polymers, polymerisablesynthetic monomers and mixtures of natural and synthetic polymers. Hydrogel synthesis involvesphysical, chemical and hybrid bonding. Bonding occurs through a variety of routes, including solution casting, solution mixing, bulk polymerisation, free radical mechanisms, radiation methods, andinterpenetrating network formation. The goal of this study was to create a hydrogel in situ drugdelivery system for B-caryophyllene to improve its wound treatment bioavailability. The plasma insitu gel of β-caryophyllene was prepared using carbopol 940 and HPMC using the pH-triggered in situgelling technique. Hydrogels play a critical role in the landscape of regenerative medicine due to theirnumerous benefits. Their biocompatibility enables the emulation of the natural extracellular matrix, promoting cellular growth, differentiation, and tissue regeneration. Notably, their high water content and porous structure closely resemble the native tissue, facilitating critical functions such as nutrientexchange and cellular communication that are required for tissue regeneration processes. Hydrogels'efficacy depends on their composition, structural attributes, and therapeutic use. |
