Abstract The widespread adoption of social media has transformed communication, information sharing, and educational practices among adolescents. While social media platforms offer opportunities for collaborative learning, access to educational resources, and digital engagement, excessive or unregulated use has been associated with reduced academic performance, sleep disturbances, anxiety, cyberbullying, and diminished psychological well-being. This paper reviews current literature on the relationship between social media use, student learning, and adolescent well-being and proposes an empirical framework for examining these relationships. Drawing on Social Cognitive Theory, Constructivism, and Connectivism, the study explores how patterns of social media use influence academic engagement and mental health outcomes. A quantitative cross-sectional survey design is proposed using standardized measures of social media use, academic engagement, and psychological well-being. Statistical analyses include descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression to examine relationships among variables. The study contributes to educational research by integrating learning outcomes with psychological well-being in a single conceptual framework and provides recommendations for educators, parents, and policymakers to encourage responsible social media use while minimizing adverse effects.
