| Abstract | The imperative for digital transformation has placed unprecedented pressure on organizations to modernize their enterprise architectures while maintaining operational continuity and competitive advantage. This research paper presents a comprehensive AI-Augmented Integration Architecture Framework designed to address the multifaceted challenges of digital transformation by systematically bridging API ecosystems, non-functional requirements, and legacy modernization initiatives. Drawing upon extensive literature review and industry case analyses, this framework proposes a structured approach that leverages artificial intelligence capabilities to enhance architectural decision-making, automate routine modernization tasks, and ensure the consistent satisfaction of non-functional requirements across hybrid enterprise environments. The framework introduces novel integration patterns that combine API-first design principles, event-driven architectures, and AI-assisted migration strategies to enable organizations to evolve from monolithic legacy systems toward agile, modular architectures. Through detailed examination of implementation patterns, governance mechanisms, and performance metrics, this research demonstrates how AI augmentation can transform legacy modernization from a high-risk, resource-intensive endeavor into a predictable, scalable engineering discipline. The findings contribute to both academic discourse and practical implementation guidance for enterprise architects, technology leaders, and digital transformation practitioners navigating the complex landscape of modern enterprise integration. |
