Behavioural Indicators of Emotional States in Digital Forensic Investigations: A Conceptual Framework

Abstract This paper proposes a beginner-friendly conceptual framework for detecting behavioural indicators of emotional states within digital forensic evidence. It argues that traditional digital forensics focuses on what happened (files accessed, messages sent) but often overlooks how the person felt while doing it — even though emotional states like anger, anxiety, or distress leave detectable traces in digital behaviour.
