Abstract India's Ethanol Blending Programme (EBP) has emerged as a key policy initiative to reduce dependence on imported crude oil, enhance energy security, and promote sustainable economic growth. This study examines whether the programme has strengthened India's economic resilience during the period 2022–2026 by analysing its impact on foreign exchange savings, oil import dependence, and selected macroeconomic indicators. Using secondary data collected from government reports, policy documents, and published statistical sources, the study evaluates trends in ethanol blending, crude oil imports, and economic performance.
