| Abstract | Education is a fundamental human right and a key driver of social and economic development. However, for millions of slum and street children, access to quality education remains a persistent challenge due to poverty, social exclusion, inadequate infrastructure, child labour, migration, and limited policy implementation. This paper examines the multidimensional barriers that prevent these children from receiving equitable educational opportunities and analyses their long-term impact on individual and societal development. Drawing upon secondary sources, government reports, and existing literature, the study explores the role of socio-economic conditions, family circumstances, institutional shortcomings, and public policy in shaping educational outcomes. The paper also highlights existing government initiatives and proposes practical recommendations to strengthen educational accessibility, inclusivity, and retention. It concludes that ensuring quality education for marginalized children requires coordinated efforts from governments, educational institutions, communities, and civil society to achieve the broader goals of social justice and sustainable development. |
