Artificial Intelligence and Law: A Socio-legal Study with Special Focus on AID of AI in Legal Drafting

| Abstract | This paper examines the socio-legal implications of integrating Artificial Intelligence into legal drafting. Using technologies like Natural Language Processing and machine learning, AI assists lawyers by automating draft generation, suggesting clauses, detecting errors, simplifying language, and ensuring regulatory compliance. While these tools enhance efficiency, accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and access to justice, they also present significant limitations, including a lack of human judgment, inability to grasp complex legal contexts, risks of over-reliance, and data privacy concerns. The study argues that AI does not replace lawyers but transforms their role toward supervision and strategic reasoning. It concludes that responsible adoption, continuous human oversight, and a balanced regulatory framework are essential to harness AI's potential while safeguarding professional ethics and legal integrity. |
