Sustainable Finance and ESG Practices: Implications for Corporate Financial Performance

Author(s) Dr. Saddam Hussain
Country India
Abstract Sustainable finance has emerged as a transformative approach that integrates environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into financial decision-making. Increasing awareness of climate change, social responsibility, and corporate governance has encouraged organizations to adopt ESG practices as a strategic business priority rather than merely a compliance requirement. Investors, regulators, and consumers now expect companies to demonstrate sustainable business practices that create long-term value while minimizing environmental and social risks. This article reviews the relationship between sustainable finance and ESG practices and examines their implications for corporate financial performance. It highlights theoretical perspectives, empirical evidence, challenges, and future directions, concluding that effective ESG implementation enhances financial resilience, improves stakeholder trust, and contributes to sustainable economic growth
