Abstract Background: Dry Eye Disease (DED) is a common ocular surface disorder associated with soft contact lens wear. Medical students are at increased risk because of prolonged screen exposure and extended contact lens use.

Objective: To assess the knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) regarding DED among soft contact lens–using medical students and evaluate their symptom burden using the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI).

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 200 soft contact lens–using medical students aged 17–25 years using a structured KAP questionnaire and the validated OSDI.

Results: Awareness of DED was reported by 73% of participants, while 54% demonstrated adequate knowledge. Sixty-seven percent had OSDI scores ≥13, and higher symptom severity was more common among students with prolonged daily lens wear, overnight wear, and longer duration of lens use. Only 24% had sought ophthalmic consultation despite persistent symptoms.

Conclusion: Although awareness of DED was moderate, a considerable knowledge–practice gap and high symptom burden were observed. Educational interventions promoting safe contact lens wear and early ophthalmic consultation are recommended.
