PRIVACY, DATA PROTECTION, AND HUMAN RIGHTS

Abstract The Study starts by tracing the evolution of the rights to privacy through time, from its philosophical foundations to its regulation in international agreements like the international covenant on civil and political rights and the universal Declaration of Human Rights. The strength of current legal frameworks is then critically examined in light of modern issues such as mass monitoring, computer profiling, biometric data gathering, and cross-border data flows. This study examines how digital technology affects human rights in the contemporary days. The protection of sensitive data, human rights, and internet privacy are the primary concern. Through a literature study and literature analysis, the research approach is qualitative and aims to understand the causes of the issues. This study raises concerns about the individual privacy, sensitive data, internet privacy threats. In additions, a lot of focus is paid to the protection of personal data, with a particular emphasis on the necessity of suitable rules. The digital age presents chances for human rights initiatives and more awareness, despite obstacles. This study offers important suggestions for laws that help protect human rights in the rapidly changing world of technology… Using an interdisciplinary approach, the study incorporates case studies, legal analysis and political theory and digital ethics perspectives. It contends that a strong rights-based strategy rooted in democratic accountability, openness, and public participation is necessary to establish real data protection, which cannot be accomplished by technical compliance or piecemeal laws alone... In reality, there is a combination of political, social, and institutional instability at the moment when it comes to the concerns regarding the protection of personal data and human rights.
