Issues and Challenges of Micro Enterprises in Himachal Pradesh

Abstract	Micro-enterprises play essential and pivotal role in promoting economic growth and creating jobs, particularly in rural and hilly areas like Himachal Pradesh. Despite their potential, these businesses encounter numerous obstacles, impeding their expansion and long-term viability. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify and assess the main problems that Himachal Pradesh's microenterprises face, such as restricted market access, insufficient infrastructure, a shortage of skilled personnel, and regulatory obstacles. These issues further become more challenging due to geographic and climatic factors, for microenterprises to grow. A descriptive approach is used to understand the extent and nature of the challenges faced by micro-enterprises in Himachal Pradesh. By drawing attention to these issues, the study significantly helps stakeholders, development organizations, and legislators in plans and policy formulation that can improve the state's microenterprise ecosystem and foster equitable and sustainable economic growth.
