CO2 adsorption studies over CaO supported on activated carbon

Abstract	A series of CaO supported on activated carbon (2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 wt %) was prepared using the impregnation method. The samples were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms. Carbon dioxide capture was conducted using the fixed bed method at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. 4 wt% CaO supported on activated carbon has shown a high adsorption capacity of 125 μ mol/g at 30 °C and good recyclability up to 10 cycles without loss of adsorption capacity.
