A Comparative Study of Theory of Estimation and Testing of Hypothesis in Statistical Inference

Abstract	Statistical inference is an important branch of statistics concerned with drawing conclusions about a population on the basis of sample information. Two fundamental components of statistical inference are the Theory of Estimation and the Testing of Hypothesis. Estimation is concerned with determining unknown population parameters from sample data, whereas hypothesis testing is concerned with making decisions about population characteristics by assessing evidence against a stated assumption. This paper presents a comparative study of estimation and hypothesis testing, including their concepts, methods, important properties, advantages, disadvantages and relationship within statistical inference.
