Quick -Commerce and Traditional Retail Transformation in India: A Study

Author(s) Prof. Dr. B Nagaraju, Ms. Sonia B
Country India
Abstract Quick Commerce (Q-Commerce) is emerging as an important component of India’s changing retail landscape, driven by rapid fulfilment, digital accessibility and convenience-oriented purchasing. This conceptual study analyses the relationship between Q-Commerce growth and traditional retail transformation in India using secondary data from academic literature, industry reports and other credible sources. The study focuses on Q-Commerce growth drivers, changing consumer preferences, competitive and operational implications for traditional retailers, and retailer adaptation. The findings indicate that Q-Commerce is creating new expectations related to speed, convenience and accessibility while encouraging traditional retailers to adopt digital and hybrid retail practices. The study suggests that Q-Commerce is contributing to the transformation rather than the complete replacement of traditional retail.
