Abstract The rapid expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) has resulted in highly interconnected networks containing large numbers of heterogeneous and resource-constrained devices. Although IoT networks provide significant benefits in smart homes, healthcare, transportation, industrial automation, and smart cities, their large attack surface makes them vulnerable to Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS), Denial-of-Service (DoS), reconnaissance, spoofing, brute-force, web-based, and botnet attacks. Conventional security mechanisms may be insufficient for detecting complex and evolving network threats while maintaining efficient network performance.
