Muhūrta and Political Leadership: A Test Across Four Decades of BJP Presidential Appointments Navatārā–Viśeṣa Tārā Patterns, Organisational Outcomes, and a Prospective Study of Nitin Nabin

Abstract	This article examines organisational muhūrta as a cultural-astrological technique through the history of presidential transitions in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), 1980–2026. Using the party’s 6 April 1980 foundation as an institutional reference, it reconstructs presidential appointment nakṣatras and evaluates Navatārā and selected Viśeṣa-Tārā relationships against presidential durability, organisational expansion, internal resistance, controversy, crisis and transition. Electoral results are treated as secondary, downstream outcomes rather than direct tests of an appointment moment. The study also examines planetary nakṣatra positions at selected appointments and crisis or resignation dates. Historical counter-examples are retained rather than reclassified to fit astrological expectations. A prospective case study of Nitin Nabin is used as an out-of-sample test: because the exact decisive transfer time lies near the Śravaṇa–Dhaniṣṭhā boundary, Pratyari is specified as the primary model and Sādhaka as a sensitivity model. The findings do not support deterministic prospective expectation, but suggest a testable framework for studying how Indian astrological timing traditions are interpreted in modern organisational and political contexts.
