Abstract • In modern Kannada poetry, the concept of equality means the idea that all sections of people in society should live equally, with respect and justice. Its main aim is to oppose differences such as caste, class, gender, religion, economic status, and advocate humanity and equality. Modern Kannada poetry is not limited to the description of beauty or nature, but has made issues such as social inequality, exploitation, poverty, casteism, gender discrimination and oppression its subject matter.
