| Abstract | Introduction- “Women constitute half of the world’s population, work two third of the world’s working hours earn one-tenth of the world's income and own less than one-tenth of the world's property.” The eminence of the Informal sector in the Indian economy is mainly concentrated in informal sector. Informality exists in all the labour markets in both high- and low-income nations, although it is more ubiquitous in developing countries. The informal sector employment, has assumed its manifestation in the present labour market by accommodating significant proportion of women workforce. The women workers enter this sector mainly to support their family and for securing financial independence. These workers are the main focus of the study as they are entering into the labourforce without any formal security and protection. |
