| Abstract | The tourism industry has experienced a rapiddigital transformation through the adoption of artificial intelligence, recommender systems, mobile computing, cloud platforms, and intelligent decision-support technologies. Modern travelers increasingly expect personalized travel experiencesthat consider their interests, budget constraints, travel history, weather conditions, transportation availability, crowd density, seasonal variations, and real-time environmental changes.Traditional tourism recommendation systems primarily relyon static recommendation mechanisms and predefined travelpackages, often failing to adapt to dynamic travel contextsand evolving user preferences.Recent advancements in intelligent systems have introducedMulti-Agent Systems (MAS) as a promising paradigm foraddressing the complexity of travel planning and itinerarygeneration. Multi-agent architectures enable autonomous software entities to collaborate, negotiate, and make decentralizeddecisions while managing heterogeneous tourism informationobtained from multiple sources. Simultaneously, developmentsin machine learning, deep learning, large language models,context-aware computing, and retrieval-augmented recommendation techniques have significantly enhanced the capabilitiesof intelligent tourism platforms. |
