| Abstract | Effective political participation is an indicator of healthy democracy. In india, voting is a primary means of political participation. It allows representation of all citizens. The voting pattern since independence has seen some shifts, but post 1989, shifts have been significant. Male and female have never contributed equally with respect to their gender population, asthe male participation has always been more than female participation. But lately some significant changes in this pattern have been witnessed. The study aims to focus on these trends with respect to time and gender. |
