Author(s) Ruchi Jain, Pardeep Singh
Country India
Abstract The last decade has seen a radical shift in the financial landscape of India, which can be attributed to the convergence of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), fintech innovations, and the increase in focus on sustainable finance. The DPI in India has proven to be a game changer in such areas as financial inclusion, innovation and sustainability. DPI has led to put fintech on the path of growth and to meet the sustainable finance goals with the unified payments interface (UPI), account aggregator (AA) and Aadhaar being the foundational nature of these frameworks. This paper discusses how DPI, the foundational systems of India, i.e. Aadhaar, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), India Stack, have allowed scalable financial inclusion and facilitated the fintech development. It also looks at the function of these developments as regarding sustainable finance goals, such as financial inclusion, environmental sustainability, and responsible investment.
