EFFECT OF INSTRUMENT ASSISTED SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION (IASTM) FOR LEVATOR SCAPULAE SYNDROME IN GYM PRACTITIONERS

Abstract : Gym practitioners may develop cervical and shoulder-region symptoms in association with repetitive loading, sustained postures and exercise technique. Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is commonly used as a manual treatment, whereas therapeutic exercise can address flexibility, movement control and loading behaviour. This study compared IASTM alone with IASTM combined with structured exercise in gym practitioners with levator scapulae syndrome.
Keywords : instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization; IASTM; levator scapulae syndrome; neck pain; gym practitioners; therapeutic exercise; cervical range of motion; SPADI; PSFS.
