Exploring the Ocean of Time

| Abstract | The nature of time remains one of the most enduring conceptual problems in both philosophy and physics. While modern theories such as relativity describe how time behaves under different physical conditions, the deeper origin of temporal flow remains an open question. This article examines the historical development of the concept of time, tracing its evolution from early philosophical reflections in ancient Greek thought to the relativistic framework introduced by Einstein. Building upon this background, the paper distinguishes between two complementary forms of temporality: physical time, associated with the dynamical evolution of physical systems , and mental time, which arises from informational processes within conscious experience. The article further explores a conceptual framework in which time is interpreted as an emergent phenomenon generated by the dynamical evolution of internal degrees of freedom within physical systems. Within this perspective, observable temporal behavior-including relativistic time dilation-may be understood as modifications in the rate of internal dynamical processes rather than properties of an independent temporal background. |
